There are so many things I would love to accomplish if only time was an endless opportunity.
I would love to learn a few languages such as Japanese and Arabic. Perhaps also take the time to learn Chinese, German, and French or maybe Italian. Instead I know a few sentences worth of Spanish and even less Japanese. I know perhaps one word each of Arabic and French [I can say no in Arabic, but yes in French]. I just don't have the time or patience to really learn any of the languages. [excuses, excuses I know... but maybe one day...].
I would love to travel one day. Visit Egypt, Japan, France, and maybe China. As well as various U.S. states/cities. Although I would like to make an attempt at the main language in each country before visiting. I know it would be far from perfect, yet I believe it is not only beneficial [for the tourist] but also a sign of respect [to the country] when a tourist at least makes an attempt at the language of the country they are visiting.
I would love to serve as a Judge one day, and if I am completely honest with myself... an Ambassador. Both seem to be positions of not only importance and respect, but also ones that can make a real difference in a broad range of people's lives.
Yet time is not endless, so I will have to work towards a variety of short-term goals. Complete my Criminal Justice B.S. Pass the LSAT and get accepted into Law School. And then worry about what I want to do with the rest of my life [career wise].
For today my goal is to get some sleep [and hope this post makes some sort of sense]. Later I will worry about studying, since finals are just around the corner and there are various assignments due before then.

Thought of the Day: Listening
I have heard, and happen to agree with, the idea that listening is an important skill. Being able to listen, and give your undivided attention to, a person is not only a sign of respect, but it is also an ability that can improve relationships, acquire information, and inevitably help with that exam [granted one learns not to fall asleep during lectures].
The problem I have, other than zoning out and/or surfing the web while a professor is lecturing, is that I do not always want to listen. Rather I want to talk and be heard. I want to say what is on my mind, and while I like hearing what others have to say, I admit that having someone to rant at makes me feel better. Maybe it is a female thing, since I certainly am not always looking for someone to hand me a solution to a given problem, rather I just want to 'get it off my chest'. [This is where friends come in handy, we can use one another to unload our problems].
In time I suppose I will learn to listen to others more, and to talk less [but hopefully also learn to use those fewer words to my advantage, while being sure to get my point across].

Procastination
There are a lot of things that I wish to do. Learn a language [or a few, there are just so many interesting ones]. Complete my Criminal Justice B.S. Do well on the LSAT and go to Law School.
And I suppose complete [ie. start] the assignment that is due tomorrow; as well as finish this semester.
I imagine that this blog will become a place to rant and perhaps share interesting tidbits that I might pick up. In the mean time I have plenty assignments/exams around the corner to keep me busy [and counting down the days til Thanksgiving break].
